2018 was filled with tremendous growth and accomplishments at Ardent Hospice & Palliative Care. We opened an office in Delano, which means we’re now able to serve 10 counties in California; and our Fresno location passed its CHAP survey with flying colors—just to name a few.
As we look to the new year, there is so much to get excited about! We plan on continuing to expand our reach, offer more services, and help more patients. But no matter how much we grow, we want our patients and families to know they can always count on the same great, personalized care from Ardent. We’re bringing our family-owned philosophy and mission of providing thoughtful care with us into the new year as well.
Here are a few things we’re looking forward to in 2019.
Launching Home Health Services in Fresno
We’re thrilled to announce the full launch of our home health services in our Fresno location in 2019. This means we’ll be able to provide rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and specialized therapies to patients in Tulare, Fresno, and Madera counties. The requirements for home health services are much broader than they are for palliative or hospice, so really, anyone who needs intensive, short-term medical support can qualify. For instance, if a patient is recovering from a broken hip and needs help around their home, or has a stroke and needs therapy to regain their strength, home health can help.
Strengthening Our Delano Services
While we opened the doors of our Delano location in October 2018, we know this year will be filled with growth and development there. We’re planning on an official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Chamber of Commerce for early 2019 and can’t wait to start accepting more patients and getting more involved with the Delano community.
Reaching More Patients Throughout California
We’re definitely covering a larger area in 2019. As we open more locations, we’re able to provide more staff for those areas, which means our patients will be receiving more visits and more specialized care. As we hire on new nurses and team members, our competencies will increase and diversify as well, so patients can also expect to have their needs met in new and creative ways.
Giving Back to the Communities We Serve Even More
One of the goals our owner and founder, Susan Compton, set out for Ardent in 2019 is to increase our community service as a team. We’re planning on regularly volunteering at our local SPCA. We’re also encouraging our employees who are able, to donate their blood on a regular basis to the Red Cross or local blood banks as well. This goal falls into our philosophy of a holistic approach to care—just like we believe in treating the entire patient (physically, emotionally, and spiritually), we believe in providing care to our entire community to the best of our abilities.
Providing More Volunteer Opportunities
Likewise, as we’re looking for new ways to give back to our communities, we’re also looking for new ways to provide volunteer positions within Ardent. We realize there are many people who do not feel comfortable working directly with patients but who still want to volunteer their time, so we’ll be looking to expand our opportunities in 2019.
Developing Our Continuum of Care Model
Another of Ardent’s goals for the year is to continue to develop our continuum of care model. We want to be able to hit every facet of care for our patients at home. This is one of the reasons we’ll be providing home health services. The more options we’re able to provide our patients, the more of their needs—medical, physical, spiritual, and emotional—we’ll be able to meet.
Creating a More Efficient Medication Process
Overall, in 2019, we’ll be exploring ways to make our medication processes more efficient. We’ve already begun partnering with more pharmacies and have scheduled several training workshops and meetings to strengthen our team as a whole and share our wealth of knowledge to be able to give our patients the best care possible.
Ultimately, in 2019, we’re striving to make sure every single one of our patients feels cared for and comfortable while on our services. To find out more information about Ardent’s services, visit us online or call us at (559) 408-5945.
